BREAKING NEWS - HARPOON BREWERY YIELDS TO THE DARK SIDE!

Harpoon Brewery has gone to the dark side, and it looks like there's no turning back! They detail this unfortunate conversion in a recent press release . . .

(Boston, MA) – The Harpoon Brewery has released the latest installment of their 100 Barrel Series, Black IPA. This is the 40th offering from Harpoon's 100 Barrel Series, the brewery's line of unique, handcrafted limited batch beers.

This all started when Harpoon brewer Matt DeLuca took over the brew house late one evening and created the dark IPA. This Black IPA is brewed with a new specialty malt from Briess called Midnight Wheat and has an almost stout-like appearance.

Deluca explains his transition to the dark side this way -

"I wanted this Black IPA to be a very hop-forward beer; having a huge, hoppy nose was important to me," says Matt. On top of the Chinook, Simcoe, Cascade, and Citra hops is an ample addition of Ahtanum hops that provides a fruity aroma to complement the earthy, spicy bitterness of this dark ale. This intense, diverse hop addition yields a well-balanced offering."

While there may be some truth to Matt's statement, we at AmericanCraftBeer.com aren't buying it! And, as we're no strangers to the dark side ourselves, we will be buying the Harpoon Black IPA as soon as we can.

The Harpoon 100 Barrel Series Black IPA is now available in 22 oz. bottles with limited draft availability.
