BEND, OREGON - CRAFT BEER’S NEWEST KATHMANDU!

It's always been a great outdoors travel destination. Visitors came for the skiing, the river sports, or for hiking in the nearby Deshutes National Forest . . . But when exactly did Bend become Beervana? Brian Cantwell, writing for the Seattle Times, suggests that it all started when Gary Fish opened Deschutes Brewery . . .

Release the Fallout!

A screen on the wall shows scenes of damage and destruction, quick cuts of bombs being dropped and nuclear signage. The music preaches that god's away on business and that it is, in fact, the end of the world. Yet, we feel fine. People mill around in Road Warrior outfits, carrying plastic AK47s and gas masks. This must be a beer release party!

BREAKING NEWS - CULT BREWERS GATHER TO WORSHIP OISHI!

We've heard their name whispered in passing for years now - the so called "Worshipful Company of Brewers." Some call it a religion, and others think it's more a cult. Some think their existence to be total bullshit, yet others say the group is very real and that they have regular rituals. And some have alleged that they are vaguely associated with Brooklyn Brewery, though the brewery has "no comment."

A Two-City Beer Run

As we all come back to earth after a (hopefully) safe and happy St. Patrick's Day, we are older and wiser and mostly in one piece. Even though our livers may still be recovering, the world of beer will not stop. So, why wait for the headaches to go away when a little "hair of the dog" can solve all of your ills? Two of our favorite Northwest breweries are there to help. Hop in your car, on your bike or strap into your favorite unicycle and get moving on the best beer run you will make this year . . .
