Bad Ideas in Brewing – Soft-Serve Head

Hey, we like Dairy Queen as much as the next guy - just not in our beer! This came to our attention from John Roach writing for msn.com. He reports on something being introduced by Japanese brewing giant Kirin that only they could come up with . . . Soft-Serve Head. This unfortunately named creation was created as an aid to chilling beer. Soft-Serve Head is a frozen foam that is dispensed on top of a beer kind of like filling a cone with soft-serve ice cream.

Craft Beer Scene Takes Off In Shanghai

Forbes recently reported on the craft beer explosion in Shanghai and it was fascinating. Seems China which already consumes more beer than any other country has developed a taste for “serious” beer. According to Forbes “Craft beer is gaining a following in China—Beijing has two breweries, and the smaller Nanjing has one, but Shanghai is where craft brewing has really taken off.”

BREAKING NEWS - MISSISSIPPI FREES BEER!

(Jackson, MS) In what many consider a shocking departure from form, Mississippi legislators have decided to do the right thing. After a long battle in the State Legislature spanning years, Governor Phil Bryant signed a beer bill into law this morning that will increase the ABV cap on beer from 5% to 8%. The change goes into effect on July 1st.
